It great to see people being solution-oriented. Focusing on what can be done, the millions of positive-minded people who want, can and are prepared to put in the effort to make our country, our neighbourhood, our home a safer and better place that will participate. One day, even just once we find that by participating we have managed to save someone, this feeling in itself will be worth our effort. Afterall, if it is to be, it is up to me.

i like this idea. It's like combining the oldies Rukun Tetangga and more detailed information of crimes/criminals, and real time updating information of criminal activities that happened near you.
I'm all for it !

Some of us are already using WhatApp, Twitter, forums, fb and googlegroup to achieve this.

The main unique feature of this app is that it would be able to disseminate relevant crime alerts to the exact individuals who would need it the most (those being at the high risk area or just entered the vicinity). It serves as an instant alert when people may have let their guards down or are ignorant to a crime that has just happened. A crime can happen at any moment and sometimes when people check the crimes reported on other dissemination platforms, it could be too late. Receiving auto alerts will make individuals more wary of the surroundings. Also, it is able to send crime alerts to all users within a vicinity, hence providing a better means of disseminating immediate news to everyone and not just those within a particular circle of friends or group. If all users are on the lookout everywhere at the same time, those in the high risk area might just be prevented from being a victim because they received precise and relevant alerts.

Adrian L: I do agree with what you have said as me and my friends also utilize those platforms to share as much information as possible. Unfortunately, crimes have already happened by then and one of our friends became a victim.
